Garba is celebrated to honor the goddess Durga during the nine-day festival of Navratri. It is a joyful and colorful event that brings people together to dance, sing, and celebrate the victory of good over evil. The dance is performed in a circular formation, symbolizing the never-ending cycle of life and the continuity of the universe. Through the rhythmic movements and spirited music, participants express their gratitude and devotion to the goddess, seeking her blessings for prosperity and happiness. What we do..

Garba, a folk dance that hails from the northwestern region of India, wherein a community forms a circle and dances together. It is typically performed during Navratri, the world's most extensive and prominent dance festival. In Palos Verdes, we join as a community to celebrate this dance form through lively music and dance performances.

Holi celebrates Holi in Palos Verdes by organizing a vibrant and joyous festival filled with colorful powders, traditional music, and delicious Indian cuisine. The community comes together to dance, play, and embrace the spirit of Holi, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere for people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy. Through this event, the Peninsula Hill Foundation aims to promote unity, diversity, and cultural understanding within the community, fostering a sense of togetherness and celebration among neighbors and friends.

Diwali is the most significant and widely celebrated festival of the Indian community. It derives its name from the line of clay lamps that we light outside our houses to represent the inner light that shields us from spiritual darkness. Diwali Gala celebrations at the Norris Pavilion, comprise of cultural performances, music, and delectable food, adding to the festive cheer.

The Summer Picnic is a delightful occasion for the Indian community on the Peninsula to gather, share a potluck meal, and partake in various games.

Cricket is in our DNA. With the aim of educating the community about the sport, PHF organizes cricket tournaments at Summer Picnic.
